James

James has an outgoing temperament, and makes friends quickly. He's a very handsome black and white fellow, with ghost tri-color markings. He has always been self-possessed and confident. He has been in charge of "mob enforcement" for his 300 range sheep since he was seven months old. He works closely with his owner, has learned on-the-job, and will readily help load sheep in a trailer or move them from pasture to pasture. He will put a feisty ewe in her place, but knows when to back off during lambing (his owner says he is "marvelous" during lambing). He is always with his owner, but relaxes and waits calmly if not asked to work. James is out with the livestock guardian dogs in the evening, and when they alert, he is the first to check out the problem. At eleven years old, James still moves very well. He is very athletic, agile, and fast.
